In New Hampshire, each of the nine regional planning commissions prepares a Regional TIP every two years based on input from local municipalities, NHDOT and each planning commission’s Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). This is concurrent with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and Ten Year Plan update.
New Hampshire RSA 228:99 and RSA 240 require that NHDOT propose a plan for improvements to the State’s transportation system every two years. The purpose of the Ten Year Plan is to develop and implement a plan allowing NH to fully participate in federally supported transportation improvement projects as well as to outline projects and programs funded with State transportation dollars.
Approved 2025-2034 CNHRPC Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The 2025-2034 CNRPC Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) was approved by the CNHRPC Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on March 24, 2023 and by the CNHRPC Full Commission at their meeting on March 30, 2023.
The TIP is a culmination of work beginning in July of 2022 seeking confirmation of continued support for transportation projects in the current 2023-2032 NHDOT Ten Year Plan, and soliciting new projects for consideration in the upcoming 2025-2034 Ten Year Plan. Several new potential projects were proposed by CNHRPC communities, which were subsequently evaluated scored by the TAC over the course of the summer and fall. These projects and proposed funding allocations are described in the Draft TIP document and were forwarded to NHDOT on March 31, 2023.
